Usage

Ibuprofen Uses 

This medicine is mainly given to reduce fever as well as treat pain or inflammation that is caused by different conditions such as arthritis, menstrual cramps, minor injury, headache, back pain as well as toothache. Ibuprofen is given to adults and children who are at least 6 months old. If you notice the signs of an allergic reaction to this medicine such as sneezing, rash or hives, trouble in breathing as well as swelling of your face, tongue, throat or lips then get the emergency medical help immediately.  

You also need to stop the medication in between if you notice signs of heart attack or stroke such as chest pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, slurred speech, feeling short of breath, leg swelling as well as sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body.  

Call your doctor and stop using Ibuprofen if you suffer from: 

  • Shortness of breath
  • Changes in vision
  • Swelling in body or rapid weight gain
  • Signs of stomach bleeding: tarry or bloody stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
  • First sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild it is
  • Liver problems such as upper stomach pain, nausea, feeling of tiredness, itching, flu, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice and loss of appetite
  • Kidney problems: Little or no urination, swelling on your feet or ankles, feeling short of breath or tired as well as painful and difficulty in urination. 
  • Symptoms of anemia like pale skin, rapid heart rate, trouble in concentrating as well as feeling light-headed. 
  • Severe skin reactions such as fever, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in eyes, sore throat as well as skin pain which is followed by a red or purple skin rash that is spreading and causing blistering as well as peeling.
  • Intake of this medicine can also cause high blood pressure, so it is recommended to check your blood pressure regularly and if it is high inform your doctor.

Ibuprofen helps in making aspirin less effective in protecting your heart as well as blood vessels.
