Grifulvin is used for the treatment of a fungal infection affecting the hair, skin or nails. The medicine could prove to be the ideal solution if you find lotions or creams ineffective in delivering the desired solution. But if the infection is caused by a bacteria or yeast, Grifulin V should not be used.
Grifulvin 250mg dosage should be always administered orally according to the dosage prescribed by the physician. Be sure to shake the bottle well before using. Although Grifulvin is the most effective when taken after a meal containing a certain amount of fat, it could be taken in at any time of the day. The dosage would depend on the severity of the disorder sought to be relieved. A dose of 500mg is the ideal for adults with a moderate fungal infection. But a severe fungal infection could be tackled by increasing the daily dose to 1g.
In case of children, the dose would depend on their weight. The severity of the infection would determine the duration of the treatment. It could be a matter of a few weeks, or it might take a few months to get rid of infections in the feet, scalp or other parts of the body. Fungal infections affecting the nails would take a longer time to be healed.
The complete prescribed dose should be administered. The dosage shouldn't be stopped or discontinued after the first few signs of improvement. The infection is likely to come back in an even more severe form after some time. Consult a physician in all cases.
