This medicine is mainly used for treating various types of cancer. Cyclophosphamide is a chemotherapy drug that works by stopping or slowing cell growth. Cyclophosphamide side effects 

During the intake of this medicine, there are chances that you might experience vomiting, nausea, stomach ache, loss of appetite, diarrhea as well as darkening of the skin and nails.  

Call your doctor immediately, if you suffer from: 

  • Pain or burning when you urinate, blood in your stools or urine
  • Feeling light-headed, pale skin, trouble in concentrating and rapid heart rate
  • Feeling short of breath on exertion, dry cough or hack, sudden pain in chest or discomfort as well as wheezing
  • Body ache, flu symptoms, fever, chills and sores in your mouth as well as throat

Cyclophosphamide Precautions 

Before the intake of this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to it or any other chemotherapy drugs like chlorambucil as well as if any other allergies. This medicine can pass into body fluids like in feces, urine and vomit.

Do not receive any live vaccine while using this medicine and also for at least three months after your treatment ends. One should also avoid coming in contact with the person who has recently received a live vaccine because there are chances that the virus could be passed on to you. Live vaccines include mumps, measles, typhoid, yellow fever, varicella, zoster, rotavirus, rubella as well as nasal flu vaccine.      

In case you have certain medical conditions then do not use this medicine without consulting your doctor. If you have decreased bone marrow function then consult your doctor before the intake of this medicine.
